Handheld Computing in B/S/H/
AM Labels Limited (AML), the labelling, barcoding and software solution specialist based in Kettering, Northamptonshire, has been chosen by the prestige manufacturer, Bosch Siemens Home Appliances (B/S/H/) to upgrade their handheld computer and scanning equipment.
The company is in the process of enhancing and developing its warehouse operation with the introduction of a new SAP software system that is being introduced across all European logistics centres, including Kettering and Milton Keynes.
The dedicated AML team configured the handheld computers to operate to their exact needs when used to pick small appliances and spare parts at Milton Keynes. This has improved simplicity of use and user confidence. While the Kettering distribution centre has installed new rugged cordless barcode scanners and vehicle mount computers on its fork lift trucks, which are used in the picking of large domestic appliances. AML also ensured that all the equipment was installed to retain all the critical settings even after a cold start, and required the minimum running set-up time for the operators.
Tony Mariani, Technical Director of AML, says: “This has been a great opportunity for us involving the entire team. We offer high quality and reliable products and tailor the look, feel and aesthetics to increase end-user confidence and satisfaction. Echoing B/S/H/’s highly regarded service ethics we support all our products and installations with superior after-sales and service support.”
Paul Shanks, Operations Manager at B/S/H/, adds: “It’s vital that our new equipment is easy to use and maintain and has excellent service provision. This was a difficult brief to set any supplier, but AML rose to the challenge and exceeded our highest expectations. Whatever we wanted, they provided, and we have been truly impressed with the comprehensive after-sales and service provided.”
