| What do I do if I have poor print quality? | Some causes of poor print quality are; dirty print heads, label and ribbon combinations or the print speed. Dirty print heads can result in poor heat transfer and a poorly printed image. The types of labels and ribbon (TLP only) can effect the quality of print if this is the fault your supplier will need to be contacted. Slowing down the print speed can help if the print is too light. It is important to run tests for your application to choose the optimal setting. |
| How do I clean dirty or blocked label sensors? | It is very important to keep the label sensors clean and free of debris in order for the printer to calibrate properly. When sensors are dirty or blocked it may cause the printer to print ' gap not detected ' onto the label. Using Isopropyl Alcohol and a cotton swab the lower gap/mark and upper gap sensors can be cleaned. |
| What do I do if the printer fails to detect ribbon out? (TLP only) |
If the mode of the printer is set to direct thermal ( D ) the printer will not detect a ribbon out. This can be corrected by setting the printer to thermal transfer by sending the EPL O command. The mode can be viewed on the configuration label under Option. For further assistance view Configuration label details. |
