Route accounting systems, also known as field sales or van sales systems are designed to automate the process of field sales and deliveries.
PDA Software
The handheld computer software will run on many Pocket PC devices. The field sales software in the PDA will allow stock, customer and pricing information to be downloaded. These functions include the following:
- Select customer and branch / outlet
- Select stock issue or stock receipt functions
- Scan product bar code and enter quantity
- Display summary of transactions with amend facility
- Print Delivery Note / Invoice / Receipt
There are several standard print outs, but the format of the print out can be easily customised to suit the application.
Office Administration Software
The office based field sales software holds databases for the stock, customers and orders. The functions of the software are as follows:
- Download customer, stock, pricing and call details to PDA
- Upload call information from PDA, including issues and receipts
- Maintain stock, price and customer records
